We're already a week into rehearsals and I couldn't be more thrilled with the incredibly high level of talent from the actors and the design team. The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) began over twenty years ago as a collaborative effort, and we are carrying on with that tradition in this production. The actors not only bring their experience and professionalism into the theatre every day - they also bring their impressive improv skills, which makes me laugh to the point of tears sometimes. The amazing stage manager and design team are constantly bringing fresh ideas to the production, and everyone emotes not only respect for the Bard - but respect for each other during this creative process. I am a huge fan of Mr. Shakespeare, and have been performing, teaching, and constantly learning his works since I was a teenager. It is an honor to bring this fun and hilarious show done in a new way to the Pittsburgh Playwright's Theatre for Unseam'd Shakespeare Company's 20th Season.
I can't wait to see what this weeks' rehearsals will bring!
